Note: Before you start following these
instructions you should download this modem INF
file. This guide is based on Windows 2000
behaviour so it may vary compared to Windows XP or later.
The overall process, however, should be more or less the
same.
 |
1) Go to
the Control Panel and double left click on the
Phone and Modem Options icon. In the resulting
window left click on the Modems tab and then the
Add... button. |
|
 |
2) You
should now see a window named Add/Remove
Hardware Wizard. Tick the Don't detect
my modem; I will select it from a list box and
left click on the Next button. In the
new Wizard window left click on the Have
Disk... button. |
|

 |
3) In the
new Install From Disk window left
click on the Browse... button and in
the Locate File window go to where you
downloaded the modem INF file, select it and left click
on the Open button. In the Install From
Disk window left click on the
OK button to return to the
Add/Remove Hardware Wizard window.
|
|

 |
4) In the
Add/Remove Hardware Wizard select the
Serial Networking entry and left click
on the Next > button to continue.
In the next Remove Hardware Wizard
window select which COM port you will be using and
again left click on the Next >
button.
|
|

 |
5) Since
the INF file is not digitally signed you will get a
Digital Signature Not Found message.
You can ignore this by left clicking on the
Yes button. You should now get a
message from the Remove Hardware
Wizard saying that Your modem has been
setup succesfully. Now click on the
Finish button to finish the
installation. |
|

 |
6) Now
that we have installed the modem we need to configure
it. In thr Phone And Modems Options
window select the Serial Networking
entry and left click on the Properties
button. In the resulting Serial Networking
Properties window change the Maximum
Port Speed to 115200 if it is
not already set. Now left click on the
OK button to return to the
Phone And Modems Options window. Left
click on the OK button to complete
these instructions. |
